Hello,

I could not find a post related to the TRD Cold Air Intake. A friend recommended to install one, but I wanted to do some research first.

  1. Is it worth paying $380 for it? Pro/Cons?
  2. Toyota was unable to tell me if this two parts numbers would work on my 2013 FJ. (PTR03-35090) and (PTR03-89100), so I was wondering if any of you have installed it and which one did you use?
Thank you in advance.

Note that the OEM intake is already a cold air intake (as are all modern cars), so don't expect any performance gain unless you reduce filtering (acceptable in race cars and other engines not expected to last as long as normal).

It is always possible that an aftermarket design will release some hidden power, by allowing more noise, but OEMs spend a tremendous amount of resources getting the best possible flow rate through the stock intake, for obvious MPG and power benefit, so most aftermarket "CAI" are just noisy, which is what most people want anyway (butt dyno is ruled by the ears and the imagination).
