x2 on this, unless you are getting your used tires for next to nothing
imo this is a better alternative.
Are retreads safe? Reliable? I would worry about the side wall as well.....and info fellas?

Safe and reliable. I've had mine for nearly a year and have had 0 issues. Treadwright has good information on their website about retreads.

I would...no, I will buy another set from them again.

Lots of folks around here are running tires by Treadwright. Most of the casings are BFG. Find someone with a bad experience if you can.

I have them and love them.
I remain leery of retreads. I understand that a few people are running them and it appears to be OK, but I would like to see a larger sampling size and longer data log. In my opinion, there's just too much to lose if there was a failure. Please don't take it as a criticism to those who are riding retreads.
I was leery of them as well initially, but for the price vs new it prompted me to do some reading. There is a lot of information out there, filtering fact from opinions was the biggest hurdle I had.
I think you would also be surprised as to what types of vehicles and how many(excluding big rigs) are running on retreads.

I don't take your opinion as criticism. More people should seek the facts before making a decision. It seems most critics of retreads base their opinions on a bad experience from an uncle in 1972 with his recaps on a farm truck.

Please continue to update us of how your retreads are working.if they continue to function properly for the full read life, I may feel more confident to use them as them alternative.
