Cute meme, but it takes over 5 hours to drive, today, between those two cities, using modern roads, or 3 1/2 hours by (modern) train. He'd be awfully late for work each day, trying to make that trip on WWII era transport.

Hmm...it doesn't say anywhere that he was working that next day, only not wanting to be late for work. The 2nd bomb was dropped 3 days later so that was plenty of time to ride the train from one city to the other. So it just might have happened.

If someone had taken the time to look him up they would find that it did happen and his story is on the History Channel, Wikipedia, YouTube, etc. and he was officially recognized by his government too.

The roof unbolts from the sides and hatch/doors. The gutter and seals are serviceable.
