We may be having these key chains made up and available for order when registering for the Summit this year.

It's only a "maybe" right now.

100,000 miles - still love it - no major issues to report.

Got a production sample of the new forum grill badge the other day.

They turned out really great.

Thanks again Craig for handling everything.

Yeah, I'm running the (forged) stock alloys and have had no issues with them at all.

I am a big fan of these rims.

Thanks for the kind words.

I finally got an in dash GPS unit installed, it's a Kenwood DNX9960.

I got a great deal from HollywoodFJ (thanks again Peter), and got it all hooked up.

Naturally I wanted to mod the thing, so I went online to the Kenwood forums and found out how to change the start up / splash screen to your own photo, so I gave it a try.

Well, I some how blew the fuse (everything went dark), and after getting it back from the repair shop ($147 later), everything is good.

Did I try and get my custom image installed again?

Yeah, and it worked without a hitch this time.

I still need to figure out how to get the custom Sun Fusion FJ icon installed that Jen made.

Here is my start up / splash screen.

ipod (on my iphone) playing with album cover artwork.

Navigation screen (Garmin - I still need to see if my Garmin topo maps will work)

Watching TV shows and movies from my ipod / iphone (or usb - cable in glove box).

Very nice Kenwood GPS/stereo. I like the GARMIN GPS integration in these Kenwood units, having used my DNX-7100 for the last four years. The DNX-9960 is a huge improvement over the now ancient 7100. I think you should be able to run the topo maps from the SD card. :rocker:

Kenwood CMOS Cameras Front and Back

I forgot to mention that I had these Kenwood cameras installed to the front and back of the FJ along with the headunit.

They work great and I can view them both while underway either together on a split screen or individually.

The rear camera also activates automatically when in reverse as you'd expect.

The cameras are controlled either by button switches or by the touch screen.

It's a good thing.

Summit No.5 Road Trip Report

July 15-24, 2011

2143 miles round trip from my home in Fullerton California.

We left home on Friday July 15th around 3pm and met my sister and brother-in-law up at our (somewhat) secret camp spot at Little Creek Mesa in Utah just past Hurricane and overlooking St. George.

On the road near Monument Valley.

The next night we camped above the Goosenecks near Mexican Hat

Sunrise at the Goosenecks.

A nice lake above Durango on the way to Ouray.

Following Don Lam up the California Pass trail

My sister’s brick FJ behind us on California Pass.

The top of the switch backs on Corkscrew.

A small piece of Black Bear that was open.

At the top of Black Bear Pass

All the FJ’s in the street for the group shot early Sunday morning from above the town on Highway 550 as we got out of town.

We drove straight through home on Sunday, 853 miles and just under 15 hours.

We had another great time at the Summit.
