Just placed an order for a set of All-pro rock sliders. Went with the bare metal and will paint them myself when they arrive. I managed to convince myself not to go crazy with black Friday/ cyber Monday spending, then ended up ordering them at the last minute 🤷‍♂️

I picked up a KTM 500 about 6 months ago and have been spending all my time and money on moto gear lately. With cooler weather and more desire to go camping and get out for a bit, I figured it was time to show the FJ some love again

Flex a lite fan kit. I like the solid shroud this provides. Better than the hacked junkyard Ford Taurus efans we used in the past. At least this bolts to stock points but the shroud is somewhat smaller. Let's hope there's no do over lol. Comes with a temp sensitive controller as well.

Nice find. I just ordered some too.
Did you get yours installed? I'm totally underwhelmed. I thought these were supposed to be loud. At best, they're the same as OEM; the stock horn might actually be louder

I powered them using the stock wiring though. Maybe they need more current? I'll find some time to wire them direct using the supplied relay. 🤷‍♀️

Picked up a set of MetalTech rear lower arms from an Ebay auction last month. I didn't really need them but the proceeds were for a good cause and they are really nice. Not sure if they are too close to the body color or if I should just go with it. Currently running a pair of Rokmen lowers.

Are you sure they didn't send you motorcycle horns?

I bought a 9,000lb winch for the expected shipment of other parts. Also decided to go ahead with the battery tray and do the wiring once. I mean, if I'm doing all this work I might as well finish it up at once. Then I can do the little fun things later on like getting my ham license and running Moab.

I have been running the Hella Supertones (5" red) on my 4Runner for 4 years. They replaced the factory dual tone horns using the stock wiring (other than adding a short ground wire for each horn). They are much louder than the stock horns. When I got my 08 TT, one of the 1st things I ordered was a set of the 5" red Supertones as the stock single horn is terrible. I used the stock wiring (again adding a short ground wire), but I did have to extend the (previously unused) 2nd horn wire to the front of the FJ as I didn't want the 2nd horn installed half way back on the inner passenger fender. They are much louder than the stock horn. They make people jump when I use the horn.

I suspect you may have got some counterfeit horns...

where exactly is this “unused 2nd horn wire”?

I’m running both my Hellas off the front stock wire. I’m going to run each horn off its own line. They’ll either fry or they’ll get louder 👍🏼 👍🏼
