What did you do TO your FJ Cruiser TODAY?

This may sound weird but we are always doing something like 4x4, washing , a good coat of wax picture, a new sticker, wheels, lift, super charger or just an oil change the point is what you did today to or with the FJ cruiser.
This is my favorite thread on the jeep forum and probably the most popular in their entire forum with over two million posts, So why not here? I'll start it off and its up to all of us to keep it going.

1. Today I added a headliner supercharger sticker to my windshield after giving her a bath.

Mounted my Hi-lift, got some new tires on her, and got some quick connect jumper cables mounted. I couldn't see any way to run the cables to the front without punching a hole in the grill so I coiled them up in front of the battery.
Whoa!
I did exact same mods recently!!! (in that same order...):blueblob:
The cables will snake through the grille if you disconnect 'em & then run from grille up to battery & reconnect; my Optima has dual posts so I used wing-nuts to connect. My problem is where to connect the plug on the bumper. I'm getting ready to install a hidden winch & think I can mount the connector to the winch box.
so for now its coiled up in front of the battery.

Quick update:
I went outside & it took less than 5 min to do this:
1.) I inserted the cables between the bumper & grille, (bumper cover flexes when you push down w/ palm)
2.)then fished the up to the battery along the line of the hood (unscrewed retainer on headlight bracket for a bit more room)
3.) Then routed cable down through the existing opening in front of battery
4.) View from front (I adjusted rubber hoop on cover forward, now connector sits flush/flat to bumper)
Tight fit, not going anywhere...

PLUS completely reversible mod; no cutting, drilling, holes etc.!

HTH!

Just installed mine, too!
Had a slight kerfuffle w/ the wrong side plates/end caps being sent,
but they sorted it out quickly & followed -up continually to make sure everything was corrected.
GREAT CUSTOMER SUPPORT!
(Shout out to Steele :blueblob:)
Instructions a little confusing (2 sets)
& you do have to install the 2 support brackets before putting on the lid
(not mentioned in instructions) but again, it only took a phone call.
Assembly was quite easy and fit & finish are excellent!
And yes, even the shipping box itself was good quality;
looking to make a nice storage/.toy box out of it :thinkerg:

FJQueue,
Info/specs on the hollow bolts you used?
Thx!
D :)
Ross,
Did you have any problem on P/S cowl bracket install w/ the snorkel?
D :smile
S/F!
I finally got a free day to install my dual battery system from Dirty Parts.

I am whittling down my pile of over-due mods parts.

Also made an accurate template for my Chinese Safari Snorkle knockoff.. I have been putting it off as the template that came with it was a joke, the holes didn't line up at all. The snorkel itself is very nice quality, just crap documentation. Now the template is ready, my next free day will be drilling holes in my fender... :worried:
Here's what I did:
Drill the BIG hole 1st...
Then the little ones don't hurt as much :worried:

p.s. if you still have template can you send a copy?
I need to cut my fender flares to go around my snorkel

D
Carry one in all my vehicles, (began keeping one in my vest while on patrol)
excellent for breaching car windows in an emergency... ('cuz I'm NOT paranoid)
D :ack: :eyemouth: :worried:

Hmmmmmm...
Maybe now I have, Baddawg!:thinkerg:
I like that spot. I have a Volant airbox, so I need to check clearance: miught even mount to the box itself.

My current project had been trying to get a new 12.3" head unit to mate-up to console
(but tryin to figure out wire bharness connections w/ no instructions is a bit challenging) :flame:

Got my AJT Design climate knobs today. Trying to go for a TRD-red accent kinda theme with the knobs, shifter, wheels, etc. Haven't checked how well the light works on it but I'm not too worried about it
Mine are about the same as OEMs (y)

cory3122,
Can I pick your brain?
  • Did you install or have it done?
  • Which vendor did you purchase from?
  • Wanting to verify hazard/defrost switches operational (ribbon cable orientation)?
Thx!

I LOVE the silver/grey w/ white...
Looking to paint my FJ so I thought it would be fun to put up a poll to see what the popular color combo would be. :)

I vote Gray/White top.
I've always thought a darker gray/silver would look groovy 🤖👍
(says the guy w/ silver FJs )...
