This may sound weird but we are always doing something like 4x4, washing , a good coat of wax picture, a new sticker, wheels, lift, super charger or just an oil change the point is what you did today to or with the FJ cruiser.
This is my favorite thread on the jeep forum and probably the most popular in their entire forum with over two million posts, So why not here? I'll start it off and its up to all of us to keep it going.

1. Today I added a headliner supercharger sticker to my windshield after giving her a bath.

So... Just as I got back to posting and updating this happens
Whie driving I felt the FJ pulling hard to the left, I stopped at the side and lots of smoke came from the front driver side wheel...
Yep, u guessed it... Front caliper seized tight 😫
Been doing lots of trips in mud and water lately, not a real fan but it what we got lately here... always washed after but still
Both of them are in bad shape.

Gonna have to go back to the original Calipers for now, clean and give as much maintenance as possible to see if I can save them without having the risk of it happening again.
And if not, well, new ones or just keep the originals.
Looks like good time for new rotors as well.

And to wash much better in the future right after arriving back. (gotta pay for mistakes)

The Yucatán weather and saltiness doesn't do well to the metal parts, but I didn't think to that level.

Mine are on their way to doing the same. I already have the new calipers i`m just waiting for all the snow to melt to put them on :)

Are those OEM Toyota calipers or another brand? How long did they last? Seems odd that the inside of the piston is corroded… how does anything get in there? Isn’t it sealed by the pad?
Those are Power Stop Z36 calipers
I guess they have a bit over a year, so it's very recent I would say
As far as I remember they are common with forum members here and quite a few have them
I am super surprised that it happened to be honest but also I have been A LOT in mud, salty water, here in Yucatán they have what's called "Mayan mud" which is with a very high concentration of salt (salt Peter, nitrate or whatever other corrosive element u can throw in the mix) harsh environment for the FJ 😳
I've had a very bad experience last year with my rear axle, had to take it off and remove all rust, repaint etc...

Installed my Tinkerer Designs shift knobs and AJT climate control knobs. I went with the gold rings on the shift knobs which are somewhat of a match for the Sun Fusion accents in the doors, but I may try to find a better matching color in a rattle can and paint them. I’m guessing any paint matching road lines, highway warning signs, heavy equipment or school busses would be a close match 😝

Yeah, it’s not really justifiable. It’s an expensive indulgence. Best not to think about the cost and don’t dare tell the wife. 😬

I only recently discovered this thread, so... will cover stuff done in the last year.

Last July:
  • New shocks! Bilstein 5160/6112 w/ Icon 2" rear springs
  • New links / boots
  • New Tires! BF Goodrich K02 (285/70 R17) all the way around (incl. spare)
  • Cleaned out the engine compartment for the first time since I bought it new in 2012
Last Week:
  • New rear springs - Icon 3" (when fully loaded, the 2" springs weren't stiff enough to prevent significant sagging in the back)
Full 120k service, including:
  • Engine oil + filter
  • Transmission fluid
  • Front Differential oil
  • Rear Differential oil
  • Transfer Case oil
  • Engine air filter
  • Cabin air filter
Today:
  • Removed the OrangeBoxx rear-door folding table, and gave the rear cargo some TLC in prep for installation of a drawer kit
(I ordered the ARB drawer kit—twice!—from 4 Wheel Parts, but it arrived damaged in a near totally destroyed shipping carton both times, so... refused the first one and returned the second ... now gonna look for something else. Refund on the second one still pending.)
Tomorrow:
  • Genesis Offroad Dual Battery Kit (Full Throttle gel, Grp25 x 2)
Next Week:
  • Replacing original battery post-connectors with nice ones, and also re-terminating the cables with copper lugs.
  • Clean the Mass Air Flow sensor
  • Clean Throttle Body
  • Finally got a fridge! Dometic CFX3 45, putting behind the driver's seat; wiring to the Genesis
  • PowerWerx panel mount 3+ amp 75w USB-C and regular USB charging outlet; wiring to the Genesis
Next Month:
  • New RTT (likely the Roofnest Falcon Pro)
  • New Awning (still researching which one)
  • New Headlight bulbs (ordered the Osram LEDriving HL H4 based on recommendations in another thread, but just noticed they're not street legal, so... need to return and find a legal option).

Funny how things like that end up in the "need to have" category...;)

After being distracted with my ‘07 Sequoia build, I got around to giving the FJ an nice upgrade in the form of some OrangeBoxx Fab PSD dash molle panels. Definitely happy with them!

@Chuynh401 I agree with Luke09, that's a nice looking skid and a great picture angle, very aggressive looking front end!
