IMO the best on the market will be the AFE, 3" piping all the way through. POWER!

(Dyno proven also)

Mate that up with a y-pipe and Thorley headers. Since you are in SA i would imagine you have no emission laws.

So MORE POWER!!

Is this the universal opinion? I mean I see people like their exhausts here, but they aren't comparing them to the AFE, which is a new product.

So if someone is buying a new exhaust NOW, would the best be the AFE? (not including the overpriced Borla)

Yes the AFE is brand new, so new no one has it yet except for the AFE rep around here. Why it's a great way to go is because its the Only 3" exhaust system on the market currently offered for the FJ. Upping the pipe size is how you get the power, perfect match for when you stick a CAI up front. MORE air IN, and MORE air OUT = Efficient, Smooth Power. (especially if you yank out the CAT's)

Now by all means you can go to your local muffler shop, tell 'em you want this magnaflow, or that flowmaster muffler, etc., and mate it up with 3" piping. That is the easiest way to go unless your willing to fork over the cash for system setup specifically for our rigs.

There are quite a few member's here with custom 3" exhausts.. hopefully they can chime in. (skersfan, Air2air, and more).

And the borla, its just way overpriced ($1k i've heard?), and dual exhaust is unnecessary on a 6 cylinder.

thanks guys for your posts. it's really hard to decide whether to go for a new exhaust or just save my money and keep the stock one..

If you really want to save money, simply keep the stock exhaust, and spend about $80 (plus shipping of course ) on a magnaflow/flowmaster muffler. Cheap and easy to do with a little bump in power.

lol, good idea Dominic, though u dont sound a frugal man :p

the shipping would cost me a bit more as i ship stuff from US via a third party shipper. they charge me $7.5 for each half kilo :mecry:therefore i must be wise :bandit:

Yes shipping to your place would be insane.

And yes, i am definitely cheap. I usually shop around for used stuff,.
