Mine used to be here:

But it slides funny (I think a tank boot or a second strap will fix it) sometimes, so I relocate it to sit it flat behind passenger seat, no picture for that tho.

Do you just have a piece of metal and a longer bolt there in the picture?
Did you have to do anything else to attach the metal strip besides get a longer bolt to attach it?

Just metal bar (drill holes) and longer bolts.
