Some people don't compress their photos because they are storing them on a server somewhere. Either a website they own or a free pic hosting site like Breast Cancer Images. I compress just so people don't have to scroll. Usually the software that comes with your camera will have this kind of editing tool.

If someone has a large photo in their gallery, they are taking up a lot of diskspace. They may have to delete some of them if they plan on using this forum a lot for posting.

You then have to insert code along with the URL of where the pic is being stored. For example:
type: [IMG]http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=1986&size=1[/IMG]

a linked pic will take the user to the gallery if they click on the pic:
[url=http://www.vbulletin.com] [img]http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=1986&size=1[/img] [/url]

Or, you can use advance reply to either insert an attachment or insert image. Either way you need to have the url.

In order to get the URL out of the gallery, right click on the picture and copy the properties part that says Address (URL).
