DO NOT throw away your OEM arms. Good advice from FJtest.

Dumb question

How Do I know if my OEM wiper blade assembly is there and I JUST need the inserts? Are you able to tell by photos of my truck? I want to make sure if I am buying inserts only or the full wiper blade assembly

Thanks

That one looks original.
As I recall, the originals will have the initials "NWB" stamped into them (Nippon Wiper Blade). Possibly on the side that faces down when installed.

Only my 16” one had the NWB stamp and I know all were factory.

I don't know where you live, but I can tell you that in Colorado, we go through wiper blades pretty quickly. I have been really happy with these:

But now the rear wiper is a totally different story....

I've been using PIAA Silicon Wiper Blades for several years. Excellent quality and durability. PLEASE NOTE IT REQUIRES TWO (2) 14" AND ONE (1) 16" (DRIVER SIDE), no matter what you see documentation wise, many places have this wrong. Silicone Wiper Blades. You can buy them on the PIAA web site or on Amazon.com.
The Driver side is model# 95040, and the Center and Passenger is model# 95035.
I have found that the RainX blades don't conform to the curve of the windshield well. I don't think I had that problem with the Bosches I was running prior.
I've used the OEM - Sightlines, Bosch, and just bought my 1st set of Scrubblades (site vendor)

All 3 have worked well, as for favorite - the sightlines never disappoint, but I haven't had a good chance to test the scrubblades, but from what others here have said, they are as good if not better. The Boschs were ok, just didn't last that long
A no roasting, easy bake answer 😀 is:
Forum supporting vendor @Scrubblade would be good place to start.
Their forum section is here and their website blade finder is here.

The finder returns the correct sizes but doesn't tell you the following:
Driver side is 16", Middle and Passenger side are 14", Rear wiper is 9"

(note: Scrubblabe smallest rear blade is 10", I don't know how it will work)
ETA: which blades go where; rear blade note

Everyone has posted the correct sizes and locations so I won’t repeat it. But I installed Bosch as I’ve always like their quality and longevity. So I’d either use them or the OEM blades.

Bosch ICON; one 16" and two 13 or 14" blades. The rear is a 9", hard to find. I found one at a local Toyota dealer for around $10. Cost around $85 for all, but they last a few years (Our FJ is garaged when not in use). Your mileage may vary

Those look to be the original. You can get the rubber inserts at Toyota. 1 is a different length so not all the same.
You mean the sun bakes the inserts ... the metal arm assemblies last forever, although the black paint will eventually begin to fade.

On my '14, the original inserts were just as soft, compliant, and free from any cracking as the new inserts I installed. I don't know why they didn't wipe quite as effectively as they did when they were new.
I've found that a lot of times you just get a tar-like residue build up on the blades that makes areas on the blade not have contact with the windshield and leave a streak of water from those gaps. Pull them off and clean them. start with Gojo hand cleaner and see how black the Gojo turns.

Thanks! I will stop by Toyota dealer and get them this week. All the online OEM, makes shipping so expensive, it isn't worth buying.

Just put a set of these on. This is the first set of blades on the FJ that have not chattered or squeaked and make full contact. Even better, they come with a spare set of inserts. Not outrageously expensive either. They have my seal of approval... at least for now.
