I go and disappear for a week and there are like 5 pages of new posts to catch up on! Geez! For those who might care, or are reading this anyway beause there might be some scrap of new info about the FJ Cruiser in this post, i am at this time living in Japan for the next 6-8 months. Those of you who are/have been military probably know what a fun place Okinawa can be, so if i start making no sense at all it is because i have lost my mind.

P.S. Before any of you even ask: NO, I wont go to the factory and steal an FJC for you. 1) it wont fit in a Sea-Bag and 2) if it did, i would be keeping it for myself.

Hey Topless,

Merry Christmas!

I'll guess things have changed since I was there in 1980. They still have the banana shows in that bar outside the gate at Kadena?

Be good, stay safe, Semper Fi!

Alright here is a good amount of info on the Taraha plant. It buy the way is the best Toyota plant that:

It is the benchmark of benchmarks:
Toyota Motor Co.p.’s untouchable Tahara
plant on Japan’s eastern coast.
In 2003, for the second year in a row, J.D.
Power and Associates bestowed its highest honor — the platinum award
for best quality worldwide — on the Tahara factory that produces Lexus
and Toyota vehicles.
Owners of models built at the plant, including the Lexus GS 300 and
430 and LS 430 luxury sedans, reported 63 defects per 100 vehicles —
about one-third fewer than owners of premium cars built at the best
BMW AG and Mercedes-Benz auto plants in Germany, according to J.D.
Power data.

Ok I'm working on getting an address for an unscheduled visit. :)
