Pilot Rock would be more scenic as you get more lake view, both trails are fairly easy if you drive across the main trail, the sideroads will provide more fun, as some of them are moderated, but some others are harder, lookup 2n17x hehehe.

If you never done none of them, and depending of where you live, it's easier to start with Cleghorn as you can enter Cleghorn from the 15, while you'll have to drive through the 138 to get to the Pilot Rock trail head. Cleghorn is longer, while Pilot Rock is shorter, if I remember 15 miles vs 8 miles.

We will be at Ocotillo wells for the TDS event with some of the fjcforum fellas during this date, but i'm sure we'll meet at another event Have fun.

I'm planning to run either Cleghorn Ridge (Cleghorn Ridge Trail - Dirtopia, the Off-Road Encyclopedia) or Pilot Rock Truck Trail (Pilot Rock Truck Trail - Dirtopia, the Off-Road Encyclopedia) next Sunday 3/2/14. Let me know if you're willing to join. I prefer not to go alone. I think either of these trails can be done in a stock FJ.

I have been to cleghorn twice. One with just my brother and I. He has a Tacoma and the other time I went with his form group Tacoma world last week with 12 Tacoma's and my fj. The trail is fairly easy, so points are rocky but not to bad. I would love to join you that day but sadly I work. Unless if the date is changed to Feb 28 or March 7,8,9 I can definitely go! Keep me updated if it changes!

Oh and yes Cleghorn can be done stock FJ. My FJ is stock but I will be adding rock rails and a snorkel today!
