Have you tried Brentacre? We have all our oddball stuff insured with them (classic jeeps, and will be insuring an fj next week).

My wife insured hers with Brentacre, £330 with me as a named driver. Underwriter is Markerstudy.

Pretty standard for unusual vehicles, I’ve owned American cars for decades and always some caveat regarding parking at the registered address.

I don’t understand Brentacre not insuring yours as they insure ours no problem for just over £300.
They’ve insured every oddball car I’ve owned (also have a 1973 jeep pickup insured with them for £105).

Is your FJ modified or standard? And you location says Scotland, so they may use different underwriter for the area.

Insured as unmodified, Markerstudy is the underwriter I would suspect the same one. Transferred policy from our grand wagoneer when we bought the car then when that policy expired last month our renewal was the above price, brentacre don’t increase your policy for any modifications whatsoever as long as it doesn’t increase power output.
