I'm was considering buying a 2010 TTSE with 175k miles from an older couple in Southern Virginia. After agreeing to what felt like a good price we set up a time for me to look at it. I like to get a carfax when I'm considering purchasing, so the carfax came back as 1 owner (as expected) but with total loss reported by the insurance company. Of course the seller didn't mention this but when I brought it up they said they had no idea and must be a mistake, but then decided to mention it was hit on the driver side and repaired by the insurance company. The carfax shows no branded title history and they sent me a photo of the clean title (mind it is dated in 2013, 1 year before the incident). The seller claims they want to get the issue resolved (not sure that's possible). The truck is super clean from the photos and has a good maintenance history. If not for the total loss reported on the carfax I would likely buy it tomorrow. Let me know what you guys think and If i should run from this truck or consider purchasing. Thanks.
