Looked around some, and didn't see anyone else building one of these. The issue is that the FJ cargo area is not flat, or level, and if you want a continuous surface, or a place to sleep, good luck! So I decided to build something. This design can be adjusted for both height (space under the deck) and strength (thickness of the plywood) so its quite flexible. I think if you used 3/4 plywood you could easily sleep on it, but you need to make a hinged extension. I wanted it light enough to easily sling in or out. I also made sure I could get to the jack storage, and I added outlets. Finally, I used PVC shower liner on the top. The space underneath fits my Coleman camp folding table.
