So how and where does everyone that doesn't have a roof rack or bumper carry their hi-lift? Does anyone make mounts for the inside of the FJ?

I`ll be mounting it inside the truck this time. My first Hi Lift rusted almost solid being on the roof. The new one will be on the inside. Thanks for the ideas :)

Personally, I'd never mount one inside my FJ.
A.) I'm imagining it flying into the back of my head during a collision.
B.) I know how dirty they get when they're actually used... why would you throw that much mud and crap back inside your FJ when you're done?
C.) They're not exactly small... I try to utilize as much inside space as possible.
Worried about rust? Just keep it oiled.
Mine used to mount to my roof rack, but now it's on the rear Red Eye bumper

Thats why I am looking for a way to safely secure it inside.

Its an FJ im not worried about dirt. It doesnt have carpet like a T4R so you can clean it easily.

I have no aftermarket bumper and no roof rack. So I dont have any option to store it other than inside the FJ.

Before I mounted mine outside I would only take it with me when I knew I might need it. The best place to put it without any modification to either the truck or jack would be the floorboards. I just leveled the area with some towels to keep it from banging around.

If your up for modifying the interior of your truck the back door option is probably best, just reassemble the jack when you need it. The other option really limits your ability to fold the rear seats and if you make it so you can fold the rear seats where will you be when you need the jack and you have it piled with stuff.

I take it you have a rock rail and then a tube adapter too then?

I am lucky to have a Lucrum winch mount to help with the attachment. I have two vertical reinforcing straps for supporting the weight of the HiLift - you can see them right at the D ring holders. To try to explain, there is a steel strap, 1 1/2"-2", that I bent slightly to conform with the curve of the bumper:

Clamped it behind the fascia of the bumper to attach the vertical supports:

Drilled three holes for attaching the HiLift:

It has been fully tested and passed with flying colors. Easy to get off and on and if muddy, the mud stays outside where it belongs.
Without the Lucrum, I would think two horizontal bars, top and bottom would hold a HiLift.
