Occasional brake pulse

I have an '08 FJ 107000 miles. Just put on new brake discs, shoes and both CV joints. Tires are stock size and have 6K on them. It has an occasional slow pulse SOMETIMES when braking. It was more noticeable on a slow braking. The pulse is long and drawn out. Doesn't happen all the time. It may go away between stop signs. Cold brakes, hot brakes, doesn't matter. Now I'm noticing a shimmy on the hiway at different speeds. Again comes and goes. No consistency to either. Sometimes the shimmy is hard, sometimes mild. My mechanic is lost as to a cause. I had to accelerate hard pulling on the hiway and the shimmy started immediately and finally quit after a few miles. It does not feel like a warped disc (been there done that) and if I use the emergency brake to stop, not a shimmy. Like I said it is occasional Help!

Slight wear in suspension can be amplified at speed or under different conditions such as braking. But warped rotors shouldn't be causing problems at regular speeds when brakes aren't applied (unless it's a defective rotor that is very poorly made and out of balance) and the vibration should be recreateable with every braking attempt under similar conditions.

Given that your pulsation when braking is intermittent, and that you also have a shimmy at highway speeds... I'd guess that, most likely, it is worn front suspension components. Have your mechanic / technician check upper and lower control arm bushings and ball joints as well as all tie rod ends.

Mine does this too. I have checked rotors for runout. All good. Wheel bearings and suspension/ steering components are great. Zero play.
I have checked for caliper issues, none. No contamination of the pads.
Right now all is great.
I have even tried putting it in neutral, or applying power while braking wondering if it could be related to vacuum or transmission. Nothing

So 2 different shops, 3 mechanics and nothing wrong. Checked EVERYTHING. checked tire balance, brakes, rotors, suspension, ball joints, steering column, everything. Its a mystery....As the one guy said, "gonna hafta wait til it breaks!" Not good as I am a pro active kinda guy.

If it hasn't been done already, be sure to thoroughly check the rear parking brake shoe assembly and backing plate for the slow pulse issue cause.

Regarding the shimmy, have you swapped tires Front to Rear to see if any change? What tire pressure are you running? And what are current alignment settings?
