Recirculation Button inop

This is not a hold down for 3 seconds issue. I took my dash apart to install a cell phone holder. All ribbon cables are properly installed, all connectors are secure.The A/C button illuminates and the A/C works. The hazard and defrost also work. All the heating controls knobs illuminate. The passenger airbag indicator is functioning.
The issue is the recirculation button will not illuminate though I think it is working. All circuit boards are free from cracks.
Any ideas?

Temp knob, is it spun to the left as far as it will go? If it's 1 click up, it won't engage.

Are you able to depress the button or is it stuck? Sometimes my re-circulation button doesn't work either and I have to tap it a few times to get it to engage.

the temp is not all the way down and of course I made sure the max air is off

Button functions properly and on the circuit board as well!

I believe it has to be on "MAX"

Don't know what your issue is but it does not have to be on max or the temp control does not have to be all the way to the left for recirculate to work. Quite the opposite actually. If the temp control is all the way to the left it comes on automatically. I can push the button anytime the fan is on and the recirculate will work.
Not sure if it has a replaceable bulb in it but that might be something to look into.
