"Shaved" Off Toyota Emblem on Center Cap

I ordered some wheels and tired, but the wheels are backordered. I needed tires ASAP, so I ended up buying a set of stock wheels and tires from another great forum member. I decided to take off the Toyota emblems on the center caps.

So far, I've filled them up with bondo/putty and sprayed some primer on them.

Now the wheels have a few nicks/scratches. Should I just sand them and touch them up? I was thinking about sanding more, putting a coat of primer, repainting, and maybe some clear coat. To clear coat or not to clear coat?

The Toyota emblems aren't "stuck" on there. They're actually "hooked" on and can be popped off.

If you do a complete job of sanding to scuff the existing clearcoat well, you won't need to prime. You can use duplicolor's wheel paint , to keep it simple. And don't clear coat the wheels; they will be too dificult to touch-up later on
