I have an '07 Ti and I have been looking at the '09 Silver Fresco Metallic and I see little difference (haven't seen one in person though). I assume it is a bit darker in color. I also noticed they have brought back black. You think they would introduce some better colors, something different?!?

Also, the TRD package for '09 is only available for 2WD?? Is this true? What's the point!:soapbox:

There is a TRD 'package' for '09's that will only be available on 4X2 iceberg trucks. They're calling it a 'pre runner'. I don't know if anyone has seen the new colors yet, we're dying to see them so we can finish our buyers guide. There will be an '09 Trail Teams edition, color & specs are unknown at this time.

the fresco is darker grey. There is a snow covered pic of one on toyota's site. I would have bought this color if it was available a year and a half ago, but it's not really a "wow" new color by any means

They should have gone with the darker color in the first place, but now it seems OBE since they already have a silver-type version. They should have considered something in a green (flat hunter might be cool). The probably wanted to stick with a color currently being used on existing Toyota models.

On the TRD package note, what is the point of the TRD package on a "pre-runner" FJ. Seems pointless.

The Miami picture is pretty accurate. I drove by the receiving port in Richmond, BC today and there must have been at least a couple hundred FJs there with the majority being the silver fresco and sandstorm. Most of them also had the ugly rear view camera option.

My Mom has a 2wd Sequoia, it suits her needs perfectly. She needed something that could haul a lot of people, have V8 power to tow, handle dirt roads/mud/the beach, and whatever else she could throw at it. And it has done exactly that. No snow down here, so no need for 4x4 in the snow neither.

Most people don't need 4x4, and of those who have 4x4 I'd be willing to be that well over 50% of 4x4 trucks never do anything where 4x4 is actually required.

Me too,I LOVE my rig, no matter what! Spent all weekend working on him and well, it is just a good feeling. He makes me smile. The hubby just accepts it now.

But that new Fresco is just really NICE!!!

Mine hangs quite well. This thread was not supposed to be a 4x4 vs 4x2 debate. All FJs do quite well, regardless of 4x2/4x4. All of us have our needs and whatever fits the need is cool.

I still go back to the color choice. That new Fresco is really very sweet!

Titanium is far superior to silver fresco. The Titanium name alone signifies great strength while silver fresco sounds like a window treatment or wedding cake design. The fact that I own a Titanium has nothing to do with my opinion.
