Well just picked up my FJ, had the mirrors, door handles and grill painted black.

Now you just need to smoke the front amber's, black out the Toyota letters, and paint the roof... well maybe body color the roof.

yeah you know if the roof was black it would look good but a white roof is hard to beat in july. love the black accents

I am not in Denver but would like to have the mirrors and door handles painted here in NC.

Can you give me specifics as to how it was done -- did they use paint or a bedliner-type substance, how'd they get it to adhere to the plastic, etc.

I have been thinking of rhinolining my mirrors, but like the way yours look better

yes DR's in the front Total Chaos UCA and Custom 3 inch rear from SPC Spring made to be full 3 inch with 300LB in the rear (Bumper and gear)

I was checking out the forum and ran across your black and blue FJ. I own a VB myself and that is EXACTLY the look I was wanting for mine. I am curious as to how you had it done. Are the pieces all painted or did you do the Tundra door handle replacement? If they are painted what color did you use and how much did it cost you to have done? Last question, I noticed you replaced your front bumper have you had any issues since doing that and did you keep your stock rear bumper and black it out as well or did you replace it. Sorry for all the questions but man that thing looks sweet!

This is all painted, there were no Tundra handles when Co-Jeff started. Somewhere I've got some steps and pics on painting the bumper caps on my Voodoo too.

 

Looks sweet, I'm gonna do the same thing. I'm with you on the roof....leave it white.

 

What color paint did you guys use? I realize its black but there are a lot of black colors much less gloss, semi, flat, etc. Also did you do it yourself or have it done by a shop? If you had those instructions, Id offer up my first born for them

Looks like that and Rustoleum BBQ are good matches. Mine have been painted over a year now. BTW at the beginning of that thread I had a test coat using Satin, it didn't look as good. Now its a close match with the textured.

 

I'm in the works of doing all this to my voodoo to except I'm also doing the roof and having my factory alloys powdercoated flat black as well ...... looks good !!!
