This info. was great. Firestone used it to align my FJ after the 2" leveling spacer kit. Thanks for posting it.:habbobuggs:

When you get the alignment done the caster will more than likelly not go back to within specs. What you want to do is get camber as close to center as possible and have the right front caster be .40-.50* greater than the left side this will insure that the vehicle tracks straight and will have no tire wear issues as long as tires are rotated properlly.[/QUOTE]

I love this forum! After getting back the newly lifted and aligned FJ, I thought to myself this doesn't quite feel right. After looking at it, and searching of the forum, I found the problem....camber was off!! FJ rides a lot like it before the lift! Thanks everybody for sharing their lessons and knowledge! Took the specs posted here to the shop they happily fixed it. Rides soooo much better now!

Ok, just came back from alignment. Naturally it is a world of difference and worked out well. I explained what i wanted and had excellent service. Here are my final specs:

Camber: Left 0 Right 0
Caster: Left .8 deg Right .8 deg
Toe: Left .01 Right .02 total .03
Steer ahead: -.01 deg

All look good? missed toe by .01
And is caster within spec limits?
Drives way better but still very slightly pulls left on certain roads,
never pulls right.
Alignment looks good rule out a tire pull to do this simply swap the front tires granted they are not directional tires. Check and make sure oull is gone if it still continues in the same direction then it is alignment related. In which I would suggest raising the left side camber to 1.0 or lowering the right side to 0.6 but 1.0 would make the driveability better and get rid of that pull.

I also just happened to bring a printed version of your post to Firestone with me when they were installing my OME. They took it "just in case" but seemed very pleased to have it. Everything is roses so far. :)

Thank you!!

Thanks Toyotatech1 from me too. Should have thought of that myself. (brain fart i guess) Will do ASAP this weekend and post driving results. Good call!

Here’s the prior alignment specs. (Loose/Wandering feel at highway speed)

Caster (left) 2.7 (right) 3.1
Camber (left) 0.2 (right)0.4
Toe (left) .05 (right) .05
Total Toe .10

Here’s the new alignment specs. (Bumpsteer)

Caster (left) 4.0 (right) 4.3
Camber (left) 0.1 (right)0.1
Toe (left) .05 (right) .05
Total Toe .10

It was a long road but I finally got my alignment back to pre-mod condition thanks to Joe Myers Toyota. I installed my AP fronts a few weeks ago which gave me about 1" lift in the front and leveled the truck out but it threw the alignment back off again. It was riding like crap on the freeway..wandering...unstable feel with vibration over 60MPH. Took into a nearbuy Goodyear and they just made it worse. 3 hours invested this afternoon at the dealer to realign and rebalance and it now drives like a dream!

Here's the final specs>
Caster (left) 3.3 (right) 3.2
Camber (left) 0.1 (right)0.1
Toe (left) .07 (right) .07
Total Toe .14

I just had an alignment done on my vehicle. It's got a 3 inch lift and 285/70/17 BFG TA/KOs.

My specs came out as follows:
Front Camber 0.50 Left and 0.30 Right
Front Caster 1.4 Left and 1.2 Right
Toe 0 left and 0 Right
Rear Camber -0.05 Left and -0.30 Right
Rear Toe 0 Left and 3/32 Right

Do these specs seem right? I have not seen 0" for toe before.

Thanks for any help.

After reading multiple 'Alignment' threads my head is spinnin'! One question puleeze! I have OME 2-3 inch lift with BFG A/T's 285-70-17 on stock alum wheels. What front aligment specs are working best for this setup? Help?

Just got the FJ aligned a couple days ago...

here is what my alignment looks like right now:

camber - left: 0.2 right: 0.1
caster - left: 3.2 right: 2.8
toe - left: 0.05 right: 0.05
sai - lefft: 11.4 right: 12.0

cross camber: 0.2
cross caster: 0.4
cross sai: -0.6
total toe: 0.1

this looks a bit off from the aligment specs given in the op...

the vehicle will pull right pretty fast when i let go of the wheel...

the wheel also sits turned slightly right when i go straight...

opinions?..ideas?..comments?

I installed the 5100s giving me about 2" of lift up front. I took it to the dealer with a slight pull to the left. They returned it to me with a hard pull to the right. I went back a second time and recieved the FJ with a very slight pull to the right and the wheel sits slightly to the right.
Final specs:
camber .25L .035R
caster 2.79L 2.55R
toe .05L .02R

Do you think if I get them to drop the camber to 0 and raise the right toe to .05, my pull will go away?

as of right now, after the dealer having my vehicle in 2x since my lift(at which point, it went totally straight, i just wanted to make sure it was all good) every time it goes in, they mess it up worse, it started after the alignment pulling the wheel hard to the right, to the point that on a highway, you would be in the next lane w/i 4-7 seconds, i mean like you were changing lanes.

after the 2nd time, it still pulls the wheel to the right, as well as wanders right even on perfectly flat roads that do indeedd flood and puddle when it rains out.

i am pissed, cause they are now saying that my tires belts have shifted(ta-ko's, stock size, not offroaded) and they even crossrotated, in which case they damaged all 4 of my centercaps...

well, it drives like schit now, it was better when i lifted it and just droveit.

now my wheel has to sit at 1115-1130 just to go straight, and if centered, it goes wayy left, and if you let go, well, if i have to sneeze 3 times, by the 3rd one, im on the shoulder(just for reference...)

this sucks asz, i wish they would just gimme back my 70 bucks, so i can go elsewhere.

i even got a door ding last time when they had it all day.

that sounds good, but i wonder how many times they will try it before coming up with excuses too...

oh, i forgot to say that they are now saying that it pulls cause it leand to one side, and that its cause i leveled it...
morephuckons i tells ya

too funny........from others on here they are happy with firestone, so I'm going to give it a shot.

I've done several alignments on fj's with lift kit both with and without upper control arms. All of them have driven straight the 1st time. I did mine more than a year ago and has no signs of abnormal tire wear. Also, none of the other fjs I have aligned seem to have any tire wear problems or pulling problems with the steering wheel at the 12:00 position. If you want to shoot me your specs on your alignments if you are having problems I can tell you where the alignment is going wrong.

I've posted a pic of my alignment report. This is for a 2" level lift spacer only. I have no idea what I'm looking at, but the green would lead me to believe they were able to get everything back within spec. The red shows that after the lift it did need to be re-aligned. Everything seems fine, it tracks straight and the wheel is oriented properly so I'm pretty pleased.
