My fellow FJ'ers,
I am working on a flush mount set of integrated USB ports for charging my phone, ipod and whatever else USB. I currently use a dual-usb cigarette lighter adapter in one of my add-on sockets. Would anyone else be interested? It could be possible to make a single and double versions, maybe even a quad for you portable device geeks.
Here's what I'm talking about, using something like this:
Here is a sample cutout template for it (to get an idea of the cutout size):
There would just need to be one small (can even seal it entirely) circuit board to be stashed away behind the USB port with a simple 12V connection to power it. Maybe even an optional LED output to show the status? It could be made pretty affordable if anyone is interested (I own PCB manufacturing equipment).
I'd become a supporting vendor if the response was good... I'm just testing the waters beforehand, certainly not advertising.
