So, you literally just peeled it away from the paint? Any prep on the emblems? Will it come off easily in a car wash?

no it does not come off easy at all.. Once it sets up, its on there. But you can peel if off at anytime. Google it, there are alot of how to's.

I have never heard of this stuff. It looks really good on your truck! Makes me want to follow suit. You said you can peel it off at any time? Does this mean you could do a black out and then un-black it out at a later date (peel it off)?

yes search plasti dip on youtube and you can see the how tos and removal of it. no primer needed and when you dont want it any more just peel it off and clean the paint, no residue left after removal

I just blacked out my bezel this weekend with it. It was super easy. It helps to cover up any chip that you may have already had. I tried my emblems but I don't think that I was patient enough and put on to heavy of coats because mine did not come out nearly as clean. There is a lot of info out there on tuner sites. Guys have painted their who car in this stuff and love it.

Wow that looks outstanding how did you do the mirrors?

#20 ·
Nope i used a Toot pick.. Really easy..

Also, it will deff not throw your balance off your wheels. I have alot of very fast cars that travel at speeds north of 180, and i and my friends have done there wheels in it.

That is crazy cool. Thanks jrod for posting pics up. I think I recall having seen a thread somewhere about using plastidip but dont remember seeing pics before.
I think Ima pick up a can and play around a little bit.

there is a nipple on your J in the first pic.

#37 ·
Haha! I was looking for a plasti-dip nipple and trying to figure out how he got one using the spray. I've made them using the actual dip on tools...

#28 ·
So where do we buy plasti-dip?
Is there a particular brand name?
