Priorities! Health and well-being are Number 1. We all think the FJ is a superb vehicle, but you should have led with: (a) my wife (and passengers) was unhurt, (b) my wife's injuries were minor, (c) my wife will be 100% soon, or (d) something else. A human life is more important than a vehicle.

Anybody have recommendations for a transport company that will pickup and deliver a FJ
Option 1: rent car drive out drop car off and drive FJ home, about 16 hour round trip
Option 2: Have a transport company pick up and deliver without inspecting FJ prior to purchase.

 

@Glenarch Any transporter will inspect for damage prior to loading, so you’ll know in advance - but that won’t help you if the vehicle is too damaged for your taste, or if the problems are mechanical. Plus, they will go ahead and load it up regardless of how damaged.

I have been using an auto transport company for the past 2 years to bring my FJ to/from AZ and TX and my home in VT. I have learned that they actually contract out to independent truckers. I’ve had no problems to report after 4 long trips. I don’t know if they do shorter trips. Happy to share info if interested.
