As silly as it sounds, dipsticks are becoming a thing of the past. Most manufacturers are switching to an electronic level sensor which will be computed/read through the instrument cluster.
Does your FJ have a dipstick? Do you know where it is? Have you ever used it?

I have about 400 miles on my two week old 2014 FJ (factory fill oil), pulled the dipstick this morning, cold engine that has been sitting overnight in the garage. After squinting numerous times to read the clean oil on the stick (wow), it always looks like it is WAY over the top dimple. I wiped the stick off and did this about four times, same result, looks way high. Maybe I am consistently reading it wrong and seeing smear that is throwing me off.

Now, I know the manual says to warm up the engine to operating temp, let it sit for five minutes and then check it on level ground. I'm wondering if that usually results in a lower oil level reading than what I am seeing when it has sat overnight and is checked prior to starting?

Thanks, just wondering if perhaps they overfilled it at the factory/dealership. I will check it as per the manual when I get home tonight.

I bolded what should give you a clue

I very much doubt you have damaged anything at all. The clicking sound you hear is normal, my truck is doing and so is my sister's truck. We both have 2010 TT. If you still have a lack of power, I say disconnect the battery for few minutes to reset your ECM and see how the engine is performing. Hope this will help. Let us know what happens.
