The picture from the thread about the black out hood decal, does anybody out there understand why he has aircraft cable running from the brush guard to the roof rack. I like the look, but can't imagine a use. Any ideas out there?

and if you do install them i would def use a spring. with the vehicle flexing it will put strain on your bumper and light rack or roof rack where ever you attach. also with the spring you can compress it and remove from hooks to access under you hood without having to undo you whole setup
Thank you for the quick responses... that really makes sense. I have never seen them before. Any kits or is it pretty much a home made thing. Just use stainless I assume?
home made but get stainless cable that has a plastic/ rubber covering so when you take them off and they lay against your rig they wolnt do damage. or at least thats what i would do but to be honest if i get a few more scratches from trails im gonna have to linex it
I thought Athena had them and said that they were a PITA. But I'm digging deep in my memory here.
I've seen them on a couple of discos. The spring idea sounds like it might do the trick. I've been a couple of spots that they would have been useful.
