For the independently wealthy or the Hard Core Off-Roader, what I'm about to say - ignore.
Just a suggestion from someone who has made all the mistakes. THINK long and Hard about modding.
It is fun and sometimes rewarding.
It is also expensive, diminishes value and often leads to many more contributory mods and problems to fix.
Let me briefly highlight just one of my vevicles.
My '05 Jeep Rubicon.
I started by missing a Deer one night - So I decided I needed A LOT more bumber and some really bright lights .... that was the start.
Put on an ARB BULLBar and some IPF lights - Great!
Noticed the front end sagging - Not so Great.
Bought an OME suspension (HD) brought the front back up - Great!
Noticed some mild drive train vibes - not so great.
Bought adjustable CA's and custom made driveshafts - Great.
The jeep was now up 3" and I needed bigger tires and a tummy tuck.
I won't bore you with the rest (and it was a lot more) - Great hobby. $8,000 later on a $30,000 Jeep - I had spent a lot of $$, spent a lot of time, stressed a relationship and ended up with a seriously modified machine that was no longer suited for its original purpose - a full-time DD and a part-time toy.
Have fun with your FJ, mod carefully, consider each move and ask, ask, ask!
