DENSO AF (upstream wideband o2) sensor

Greetings and a Happy New Year to all!
I am looking to replace my AF ratio sensors and it seems DENSO is no longer offering them (according to their website) and my local Toyota Stealerships are asking almost $250.00 EACH - OUCH! Special order only. Just wondering if any of the FJ genius crowd out there has any sugestions. I'm not willing to go junk aftermarket.

I purchased all four this summer. I just checked Rock Auto and they are still available.

Also, Denso has sold what they call "universal" parts, which are the exact same sensor but with a longer wire harness pigtail so that it can be used an a number of different vehicles. You zip tie the excess wire out of the way.

Because it is far easier for them to stock these which cover dozens of models the price is discounted.

I wonder if the Denso site is only saying they don't sell the exact ones any more (with the perfect length wire), now that the FJ is 10 years out of production? Luckily the sensor won't care if it has a few inches of extra wire.

What 'Denso website' indicated that AFR sensors are no longer available?
What model year is your FJ?
densproducts.com is a major Denso distributor, and shows AFR sensors in stock ... around $175 for a AFR sensor for a '14 FJC.

Also note that the 'universal' sensors do not come with the required connector - just bare wire 'pigtails'.

If you go with these slightly less expensive sensors, you will need to splice on the connector from your old sensor, and the splice must be a very high quality, soldered and hermetically-sealed splice. Remember that the sensors are providing millivolt level output signals, so the slightest resistance in the splice, or a few microamps of leakage current between the leads from poor sealing can cause an inaccurate output signal.

I'd always go for the 'OEM identical' sensor, the slight cost differential is more than worth it.
