I know plentyb of people have already removed or modified or painted their "FJ" emblems on the back of the tailgate, but i just wanted to post a pic of mine nad say why i think everyone should do it!!! lol, nah, it's obviously just my opinion, but i feel that the toyota logo and the "cruiser" part on the tailgate r ugly, so i took them off(with fishing wire) and then, also took the FJ off, scuffed it with some scotchbrite, primed them, painted them satin black, and re-attached them with some fresh double sided tape, in the lower right corner of the tailgate... in my opinion, the best place for them!
i just bought this fj, my third though, so i'm not new to them, but this one being my favorite, an '11 NSSE army green misbuild. whatever, i love it! it's super special lol. but i just hate the way the FJ logo looks like something shiny that u can buy from pep boys, so this is y i did the silly, but visually awesome "mod"...

Emblems look great. I did mine a while back, though I left the whole "FJ cruiser" badge. I did however take of the sombrero toyota logo. I used some Dupli-color bumper coating, as thats what i used when I blacked out the bumper wings and silver bits. I think it just matches everything better than using a different paint.

I like your take on it though, with just the "FJ". Great work.
