I installed a Prinsu rack last week. Followed the instructions and advice from many forums, using a good amount of RTV silicone around the white bolt sleeves, in the bolt hole and around the bolt threads. I even used self leveling silicone to encapsulate the space around the bolt in the standoff to prevent water from sitting in it.

A week later I used a garden hose to test for any leaks. Guess what... a leak in the driver side A pillar. To be fair I used the shower feature on the nozzle and held it directly against the roofs corner.

Honestly I'm not too sure what to do. Logic is telling me that this is due to a poor seal with the bolt holes, as this area was not leaking prior to Prinsu rack install. But I really don't want to pull the rack and reinstall. Other forums say that it could be an issue with the body welds near the roof rain gutter, so my current plan is to pull the front channel pieces off and use silicone along the body weld to ensure no micro cracks are causing this leak. Another possible leak location could be the top windshield trim/molding. I know the clips are sealed with foam washers which can deteriorate, and it does not help that my windshield has been replaced sometime by the previous owner. Regardless I really hope it's not the bolt holes. If it is the bolt holes causing the leak, I'm going to regret not getting the sherpa rack which uses a gasket, instead of RTV silicone.

Any thoughts or input on what I should do? Thanks
