Between my '11 FJ and '18 4Runner, I'm on my 4th set of Duratracs. I live in Colorado and am in the mountains offroading 15-20 weekends a year. I also help run the local FJ club -- Colorado FJ Cruisers -- and help organize the Rocky Mountain Toyota RoundUp in Ouray.

Why do I buy these tires? The hybrid tread has the tread spacing to handle deep snow in the winter, but doesn't get torn up in the summer on the rocks like a mud terrain tire does. This is one of the few tires that I've seen that handles everything we do in Colorado well.

Those tires looks good... Sadly I see only 1 size for 16" rims 265/70/16

No other size options??

They don't offer them in 285/70/17 either .

 

Are the regular Duratracs discontinued? I am being told by the local Discount tire stores they can not get them. We have 285/70/17 on 2 FJs and a off road trailer, wife needs 4

 

I hope not. I have them on both vehicles. I need 4.

 

@Glenarch the 10 ply rated LT285/70R17 OWL Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac has an active part number still, however the 8 ply rated tire is discontinued. Shoot us a DM and we can assist with the purchase if needed.

 

I also am needing the LT285/70R17 DuraTracs, 5 of them. What I'm running now are the E load range LT265/70R17. Looking at your website it looks like the DuraTracs are currently available in an E and D load range?

Was noise reduction mentioned elsewhere as one of the improvements?

 

I'm soon to be in the market for 3 or 4 on 18" wheels...definitely happy with my current Duratracs 👍🏻

 

@AJ FJCruiser don't hesitate to shoot us a DM when your ready to move forward, Goodyear currently has the 275/65R18 Duratrac RT in stock ready to ship.

@fsubzero Goodyears marketing is hyper focused on durability improvements with its 3ply sidewall construction and DuPont™ Kevlar tread protection. However the computer optimized tread blocks are closer together and suggest the tire should be quieter than its predecessor.

 

I'd be interested if they have changed the wear characteristics. I ran a set that started to get really noisy and did not wear well.

I've been on KO2s since then, but the duratrac was always slightly better on ice and on the wet due to being a softer tire. If this updated version fixes that I might be going back to them.

The new version has no holes for studs anymore either?

 

Is the new DuraTrac RT available in LT285/70R17?

 

I'm not seeing anything wider than 265 for 16" or 17", so thats not really an option for me.

 

Very interested in these but the Goodyear site doesn't list 285/70/17 yet.

 

285/70/17 Should be at my house Monday! Made in Chile? Pretty good prices for cheapskates like me online Should've seen if America's Tire would've price matched. Hope they're ok.

Got sent the old DuraTracs and refused the shipment. Good price but not what I wanted. Ordered Mickey Thompson from my local Americas Tire. They’re like 5 or 6 lbs heavier. Someone else gets to be the DuraTrac guinea pig.

I ran DuraTrac on my FJ and loved them. They are a very similar tread pattern to the long discontinued BFG Trac Edge which I ran back in the day. Sadly they don’t seem to be readily available in Europe now except in big wheel/low profile sizes.

Do they offer a 255/80 R17? I can get shipped to UK easy enough from FL
