I am traveling to north GA in December and I'm looking to do some wheeling. I'm vacationing with a bunch of guys from work, and along with my FJ is a Jeep Unlimited and a 4door Superduty. Everyone wants to go play, but we are 10 hours from home so nothing serious. Basically, we're looking to go hit some fun trails, get the trucks a little dirty, maybe do some small water crossings...fun stuff but nothing that would really damage a vehicle.

I'm looking online and found Beasley Knob OHV Trails. It says this place is for "experienced Riders" but does that include trucks or is that just for ATV's and bikes? I've been offroading for a while, but the Jeep guy just got his rig and has never been wheeling.

I know there are a couple of guys with nice rigs in Ellijay so hopefully you know of some local places. One of the guys on this forum has a cabin near where I'm staying, and I saw a really nice FJ with an ARB bumper, roof lights, ect, at the gas station the day I was leaving. That thing was clearly built for fun, so there must be somewhere close to go play.

Thanks.

I just went to Beasley Knob a few weeks ago for the first time. I went in the afternoon on a nice saturday and only saw 2 bikes and 5 other trucks while parked. Only saw three trucks while wheelin. This was my first time doing any real wheeling of my own so I think a beginner would be okay as long as common sense is used.

The FJ did fine, only had 1 slight issue trying to get up a hill, but made it after a few tries. I wouldn't go there if it has been wet as it would be really tough and almost all trails are packed clay. Some trails may be a little narrow for the super duty. There are some areas where the brush encroaches on the trail, so some light striping may be expected. PM me if you guys go in Dec, I'm not too far from there.

Check out Tate City. Not far from Elijay. Beautiful forest service roads and trout streams with a good bit of off shoot trails too. Couple river crossings also.
