Yes.

The thing to do (IMO) when looking at what to modify and more importantly WHY to modify is to keep an eye on what fails and why. The Forum is a great place to get this information because these people drive their FJ's and most are forthcoming about their experiences, carnage and so forth.

In many cases the OEM part works just fine and VERY SELDOM if ever fails. In other cases (take skid plates for example), the OEM solution does not address off-road conditions and makes no pretense to do so.

I don't think it's a question of the part failing. It's a question of the rear link limiting rear travel after lifting. The rear links/sway bar are in a different position after lifting, more of an angle. Legthening the rear links will bring the position of the sway bar back to stock. A few guys on toyota120 have extended rear links on their 4th gen. 4runners.

At first I loosened the sway bar links so they would drop down some. Never had a problem with the stock links though. The sway bar does limit flex so I took it off. If you do take yours off just make sure to check the brake line length and that the rear coils don't fall out at full droop. I'm pretty sure you wont have that problem with OME N71's and Toytec coils. I love the extra flex with not having the SB and barely notice a difference when driving. I still run the front sway bar and will never take it off. When doing some testing it would put the CV at too much of an angle.

I even had a slightly longer Bilstein shock with the rear SB on and no problems

so does anyone know where to get them these extended rear links
so we can keep the sway bar on and have the correct ammount of travel
what i have now is very good N71E with toytec superflex
but i think i can get a bit more with the right length of sway bar links
or i should work on the bds ones and make them shorter so they wouldn't contact the lower links anymore?

Rear sway is crazy easy to remove... just undo the brackets on the axle and stand clear so it doesn't BOING you in the face, then take off the links.

I also have never heard of the rear links breaking and would not replace them if breaking is your concern. The sway does of course limit flex, but there's still quite a bit to be had with it on... shocks are generally the limiting factor I believe.

Sway bar on, stock links...
