Has anyone had the injectors replaced on their FJ?

I am having a problem with My 08 TT FJ where it will spin the motor over 7-10 times before it starts but only on cold starts

Thanks

Do you have a performance programmer of any kind? If so, it can take several cranks before it links up with the oem ecu.

Is it throwing any codes?
Have you checked your plugs & plug gaps?

Well, I haven’t had any problems with mine, but I have changed them due to supercharging. It’s very simple. However, it’s more likely that you’re fuel pump is getting weak. If it was the injectors, it would be unlikely that all of them were going at the same time. And you should be getting a check engine light if one or more weren’t operating correctly.

Furthermore, you should start by pulling spark plugs and checking their condition. Look for any that stand out from the others. Eg: fuel soaked, heavy carbon buildup, chalky white. That could help pinpoint an issue with a certain cylinder. But even that should be throwing a check engine light. A weak fuel pump is still my number one guess. It would allow the engine to run after fuel builds up pressure. If it was spark/ignition related, it would run rough, throw CEL, or not run at all.

If you're losing prime after shutting off the vehicle, you probably have an issue with the pump. There should be an internal check in the pump that keeps the system moderately primed. Some people have simply added an inline check valve to the pressurized line leaving the tank. My personal preference would be to replace the pump, it'll give you an opportunity to replace the screen filter at the same time.

I would check the fuel pressure regulator first. Costs basically nothing to test if you have the gauge, and could very well be the problem if the regulator is not holding pressure while the vehicle is off. Leaking injectors are a possibility but wouldn't be first on my list. Don't jump to the most expensive option first without proof.
