So anyways, I have had a the check engine, vsc off, vsc trac, lights on the dash stay on lately. They are on all the time and never go off. So I decided to take it in and get it hooked up to the computer and see what was wrong.

Well it flashed the code PO016... which means that the camshaft and crankshaft sensors are not getting the proper signal and the timing could possibly be off, the mechanic believes it is the timing. He also said it could possibly be an internal ECU short out.

whatever it is its not good and its not under waranty.. :mecry:

Anyone know would could cause the timing slip?? its an 07 BD C package with TRD exhaust. just rolled over 90k

Thanks

I had a similar issue with a Dodge Magnum. Dealer says timing belt might have slipped. Turned out to be a bad crank position sensor. About $100 took care of it.

Good luck.

FJ has a chain not a belt.

One more thought, If your timing had slipped, you would throw more than one code. If valve timing is off, every thing is off. Your ECU would go nuts trying to compensate. How does it run? If it still runs ok, and your gas mileage is still good, your timing is not off. I'm betting on a cam or crank position sensor.

After I put the lift on mine all my lights came on also and threw the exact code with the reader. Someone suggested that I reset things by disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes. I did that and the lights went out have have been fine ever since. I only say this because all of your lights are on and not just the check engine light. If it does come back I too would think sensor if you have no noticble change in the performance.
Good Luck.
