Rear facing tends to make people carsick.
Yes, my mom had a rear facing MB station wagon, made me car sick. However, rear facing has most ease of access. I am currently leaning doing it rear facing, see how the passengers feel, and if it makes them too sick (short 10-20 min max jaunts), then flipping it around.

I had 5 brothers and sisters so we grew up in various station wagons, including a green Malibu station wagon. This post brings back memories of the good times, fighting for the choice seats. :grin

got all the bolts and bracket

Took a day of Wednesday, to install. Will share pics

Holy cow, this is actually a thing? Where you going to put all of your stuff? I'd leave the kids at home 1st, personally. Actually, I guess we usually do that because they hate riding in the FJ, cuz they can't see out, boohoo... :crying

It's way more fun just me & the Mrs anyway. :grin

I posted some photos to give you all a clear idea of how well it fits. The big kid is a large 11 year old and the little kid is a small 7 year old. You can make your own conclusions from there about how well it might work for you.

PS: With this specific model seat, it would be possible to make two cuts in the OEM cargo area floor mat to keep the floor protected and looking better. I just didn't think of it. Removing the seat is kind of a pain due to the types of bolts used (hard to reach with ratchets), so I figure I'll dream up an easier way to remove/install it and then repaint that rusty base and fit the floor mat in too.
Where did you get the seats. I’ve been looking for something like that for months

Looks great, but I would have installed it facing the other way, like the old Vista Wagons we had to ride in cross country on summer vacations. I liked seeing where I'd been, and had it to myself, since my sisters would get carsick facing backwards. How do the kids get in or out?
My little sister and me rode halfway across the US behind the seat of a 67 Elcamino, will remember that forever.
