I was walking out to my FJ today and notice how high my truck is off the ground now, so naturally i grabbed the tape measure.

Stock ground clearance is 9.6". I figure that is the lowest point (rear diff).

As of now, i'm just barely at 11.5" at the bottom of the rear diff, and almost 15.6" at the center cross member.

Where are you guys n gals at?

edit: my tires are 315/70/17 BFG A/T

Also, no crossUNDER pipe anymore.

Put another 15psi into your tires and you might get to 11.7.. Measuring at the diff is measuring the change in the tire OD. That's a good gain Dom. Guess you're loving the 35s.

10 1/4 on the rear diff

13 3/4's on the crossmember/exhaust transfer case skid

we should include tire size and lift too

305/70/16's copper STT's

and walker evan adjustables front low so that i dont have CV issues

Last time I remember I was at 14 1/2 center crossmember 295/70/17

Man you guys must have your lifts cranked up. I'm measuring 10.25 or so at the rear diff drain bolt metal lip.

I'm getting 11.75 inches at the main cross member and 10.75 at the bottom of my AP Tcase/crossover pipe skid.

I'm running 285 75 16s with two inches of lift in the rear and maybe 2.75 inches in the front. Then again maybe the front is lower.

I've had some bad luck raising it up too high and fudging up my front drive shaft seals.

I've got a touch more than 17" at the tranny crossmember, but I chopped it and replaced it along with the exhaust crossover. Everything in that region of my belly is above the frame.

My muffler and my gas tank are lower.

I'm running 315/75/16's with a standard 3"/2" type of suspension upgrade (All-Pro), and level adjustment on the front springs.

Frogeye it's your tire size dude you would be higher..I swear I have the same lift up front. I had issues when raising it too high and dropped them back down after the last summit, and its being doing well! at the summit I'll show you mine if you show me yours bwawhahhahahah!

come on folks lets hear some measurements!

This is why I want this info hehehheheheh! so its the size that matters?? WTF my girl has been lying? baawahhahahahahhh!

After the summit I will be doing the same as you and having my exhaust shop chopping that bastard out of there repositioning the exhaust...after seeing your rig in person it got the ol hamster cage rolling!

The stock transfer case hangs slightly lower than the underside of the longitudinal frame rails. If you stick with the stock case, you *do* have room to snake the exhaust pipe around the back to get it between the case and the gas tank, but it'll be CLOSE. I would imagine that heat shielding would help you not think about bursting into flames while driving up to my next barbecue.

My crossmember benefits from a convenient groove between the end of the transmission and the beginning of the aftermarket transfer case. I don't know if such a groove exists with the stock case... I haven't looked.

Without the aftermarket case, I think you could still do this, but you'd have to make a slightly different design of crossmember and you might want to hang it slightly lower so that it could support a skid to go under the now-naked transfer case. Instead of round tube, I'd make it out of 1x3, laying flat.

Yeah. I probably will continue the plate past the transfer case.

Right now, I just have the tranny plate from All-Pro with the lip cut off, bolted to the cross member. What I'll build will be a spoon-like plate that will start out the same, but then it will continue under the crossmember and then go up around the back of the transfer case. I'll leave the end cantilevered but it'll be stiffened around the edges by a lip.

When I have mod energy, it gets sapped by the money eating pig from hell in the garage. ;)

I will soon be losing some front ground clearence. Since i removed my winch and lucrum, the nose is aiming for the sky (thats why it is so high right now), and will be countering that with a new bumper soon.

But, since my front end is so stiff, i can corner like no other
