Is there a way to adjust radio display contrast, brightness?

Hi. I just bought a 2008 FJ Cruiser (shown below) equipped with the Toyota "deluxe" AM/FM radio with 6 CD changer and rear subwoofer.

It is difficult to read the frequency display during the daytime. Is there a way to increase the contrast of the frequency display? I studied the owner's manual, but can't find a brightness or contrast adjustment. Changing the background color of the LCD display does not help.

My eyeglasses are the automatic tinting variety, although I don't think they are polarized.

Not that i know of, only thing u can change is the color i think

make sure your dimmer switch on the left side of dash is all the way up. You can try changing the display to another color that maybe is easier for you to see.

I have found that orange is easier to read. I think some of the lighter colors are probably just as easy. It still isn't great, but it is better.

Thanks for the comments, layonnn and skerjf. My radio display is configured to use the orange background, too.
