I broke a tail light at WTF this last weekend and dont want to leave the red tape on there forever. I've been online looking at replacement options. I can't find any LED flush tail lights for the FJ. Anyone seen any or know of a source? If not, any input on just going with a OEM replacement or should I go with the LED option? Thanks for any input on this.

Given that we deal with snow more than you do, I'd stay with OEM. If you are not having to deal with snow, I did see some LED lights at WTF that looked BooKoo good.
I'm just wondering why you feel the snow would be bad? The taillights are constructed very well and are water tight. Also, the LEDs are much brighter and last longer than stock. How could you go wrong?
They are so bright that I people who are close to the truck complain about how bright they are when I unlock it.

edit...didn't realize you were talking about the rocktek ones....oh well. these ones are still awesome!

I've searched the last few days on the net and can't find any flush LED's for the FJ. So it looks like regardless if I go with the OEM or the LED light available, they both have the same shape and stickout from the body. So I can spend $98 for one OEM light or $230 for a pair of LED lights. Anyone else have any luck with finding flush LED taillights?

It is that they are not as hot. Therefore they get covered with snow and are hard to see. Bright does one no good if they can't be seen. Just an observation from a colder climate.

Does anyone know if the lens thickness is the same for LED and OEM tail lights? Other than the fact they should last longer light wise, are they more durable?
