Camburg and Sway Bar

Since my camburg / SAW front coilovers have been rubbing on the inner bends of my sway bar, I have taken it off. Has anyone here bent the sway bar in a way to avoid this scraping issue?

Is it rubbing on both sides? I would guess it rubs on one side or the other. You can eliminate this problem with Sway bar collars. (A few forum sponsers sell them.) The stock ones just dont hold the sway bar in position under the g-forces. I would beat it rubs on the driver's side. Because left hand turns through intersections are a faster turn than a right hand turn close to the curb.

Just a thought

That helps to a certain extent. The bar itself is flexible if it's really close, it'll still contact from time to time.

You gotta grind the sway bar down, same with the SAWs. Cant really just bend the sway bar out of the way.

ToyTec has relocation pads for the swaybar frame mounts that moves them forward about an inch. This may help you out.

even with the relocation pads you will need to grind the sway bar. Call Mark from Metal Tech and ask him to dend you the directions or PM me, I may still have them.

Well I have the Camburgs, I am not running a sway bar up front for over a year now and have had NO issues. The Camburgs are the ideal coilover for not running a sway bar because they have such a high spring rate. Id say just leave it out if you are comfortable with the ride.

Absolutely agree...

My sway bar, while only actually rubbing (mostly) on the driver's side was very close to the coil on the passenger side as well. The bar just wasn't designed to have a large coil in the way so far down the CO assembly.

No sway bar here as well, and I love it. The IFS actually feels like it works as it was meant to in the first place, and yes - the spring rate is certainly enough on its own to replace the need for the sway bar.

I have the Light Racing UCA's and the SAW coilovers. The sway bar re-locators only move the sway bar forward to prevent rubbing on the forward portion, however, it does nothing for the portion of the sway bar that is on the side closest to the tire. The only way I see as a remedy is to grind excess material away.

Thanks for your input ! I'll test your ideas out on my truck and see how it goes. By the way, I am currently running without a sway bar.

SAWs here as well. you will have to grind or remove sway bar as several others suggested.
