Im quite interested, let us know how you like em! I talked to the guy at Wheelers today and they dont have anything for the rear yet. They had to make the molds for this one and they are trying to get some feedback before they move to the rears.

Seriously, go to the 4 wheel parts website and do a search for "super". It's kind of sickening actually...

Anyway, those bump stops look good! I saw the threads about them you mentioned. My only concern is that adding them to a truck that doesn't have fender bulges now might accelerate the process......

Sure seems like they almost touch the LCA on level ground? How were you able to get the allen wrench in to install them?

 

Ok, I just read through the jounce shock link (thanks for that).

I've never really examined this type of mod since I still have so many ahead of it ($).

I'm not trying to hijack here, just trying to understand the difference between this and a jounce (chubby). I get what the jounce shock does (after reading about it). What does a better bump stop exactly improve? Obviously they have some similarities or they wouldn't be mentioned in tandem like this. $50 and a bolt in is not a bad mod for people. The jounce seems a lot more involved (install, adjustment, etc...) and I'm betting the price is no where near $50.00

 

They both replace the stock bump stops , thats about the end of the similarities ..........these "super bumps" are just bigger than stock and softer as they're made of a poly foam material ......... basically they are supposed to absorb some of the impact or atleast BETTER (less JOLT more squishy:lol than the rock hard stock ones ........ and yes jounce shocks are beyond bad a$$ but over a grand THEY BETTER BE.........:cheers:

 

It looks like they extend further then stock ones. I wonder if that might be bad for those that like to crawl and actually need that little bit more of room for suspension travel.

 

If I had to guess: with these "Super Bumps" being made of a softer material than the stock bumpstops, they will likely compress down to at least the same point, if not further. Plus, being softer, they may not increase the overall spring rate so significantly as to interfere with suspension travel.

To the OP: can you comment on how soft these are? Any chance you can get some images of them under compression?

I am concerned that the length of these will cause them to deflect at an angle rather than compress, and that could cause some major issues.

 

I'm wondering if these will keep my 35s from smashing into the fender wells?

I've got some Superbumps somewhere over the ocean on the way to me. Hope to get em installed up asap and out for a test.

My use is more of the higher speed desert stuff, so I primarily want them to lessen my 33's crashing into the fender. I realise these things are softer than stock, so they may not work as I need - but what the hell, the stockers dont work anyway!!!

If they provide some damping before the tyre impacts the fender, that will be something. If they lessen the impact events, then all the better.

And yes, I know jounce/chubbies is what I really need :mecry::mecry:but I'll just have to settle for the poor mans option in the meantime.

PS Dan at wheelers was awesome to deal with, esp as I was outside the US

wow you do realize you just took away some uptravel? yor supposed to put low profle bumpstops not longer ones..

I know that the Daystar EVS foam bump stops are supposed to do exactly that. They are the poor man's jounce shocks. But, I was under the same impression Bandi. That's why I am eagerly awaiting a full review of this. $50 bucks isn't much... but, it is when it is completely wasted on junk. But, I'm trying to be optomistic. I think they would be worlds better than the stock bumps.

 

ok mine have just arrived, first impression pretty good, build quality is v good, and they seem softer than stock.

I'll get em on as soon as I can, however we have the inaugral Formula 1 kicking off here in Abu Dhabi today, its gonna be huge, so the next few days are out for me.

Re limiting uptravel - thats what I want to do! At least the last few mm's of it anyway, I want to prevent the tyre smashing into the wheel arch, or at least slow it down before it does.
Rock crawling is not for my wagon :lol:

 

Everyone that gets these... just say they got them. Doesn't it only take 5min. to install? Loosen one bolt and remount the new one? Damn it! I'm gonna have to get them just so i can tell everyone else I have them too. arghhhh!

And yeah , install is hella quick but I live in a condo community that'll have my a$$ for doing anything to my vehicles here ..... anyways I haven't been able to take pics while "poser flexing" but I have managed to take a few washboard roads at high speed to get a few small jumps in ...... and they're worth every penny !! They made a nice difference in landing and much less of an initial **SHOCK**

Get them , you'll like them ...... especially at this price !!!!

I have gone through just about all my wrench sizes including channel locks. What size wrench fits the OEM bump stops?

 

Most people i have read about installing aftermarket bumpstops removed the factory ones with channel lock plyers.
