Well, I'm waiting for my FJ to come in. It should be within the next two weeks - but the wait is hard!! I've been browsing around trying to figure out what accessories to get. So far I have just afew..

#1 - Gear shift, either the TRD one, or something else?

#2 - The Toyota plastic hood guard/reflector. Does it help move airflow and divert rocks from hitting the windshield?

#3 - Thinking about a brushguard with extra headlamps, different front bumper, or a winch assembly. No clear idea on this one yet though.

What are your favorite accessories?

I am a newbie so this is just a start:
Tow strap
48" Hi-Lift jack
Bracket to mount to the Hi-Lift jack to the roof cargo rack
Rock Sliders

Try not to think about the FJ for the next couple of weeks then the wait will not be so painful. :bigthumb:

By Gear shift. Do you mean the "short shifter? I have the URD and its great! Fraction of the cost as the TRD.

That was the first thing I did.

Then.... Sliders, Lift, Skids, Bumper, Winch, wheels, tires, rack, CO2, it actually never really stops......

X2 only I have the TRD one and really like. I have also heard that either trdpart4u or sparkstoyota has a really good deal on it right now as well. I have heard good things about the URD one too but have never personally used it.
Either way you go it will be a HUGE improvement over the stock throw.

My URD short shifter comes in tomorrow...first thing i've added besides stereo stuff...besides that i'd say a must have accessory is always a decent pair of heels

Must have???? That would be full windshield damage coverage on my insurance. This alone has saved me a couple grand in repairs in the past 3yrs.

2nd would be my budbuilt skids... I can't even calculate the damage it has prevented.

3rd... backup camera. Another major damage saving device.

Start small by doing all the "hacks". Chime kill is a must!

Steel front bumper
different stereo and speakers
larger inverter
exhaust/ intake
window shade/ deflectors

just for starters...

Thanks for all the ideas guys.. It looks like I could go crazy with upgrades and mods! I think the TT is coming with rock rails, but I think skid plates would be great. No idea how much off roading I'll be doing though.

I didn't know it had a subwoofer. I'll probably remove and sell that off. I wish it had the backup radar though.

Again, thanks for all the ideas.

Not really being a hard core wheeler, most of my favorite mods revolve around storage. I love my Tuffy center console and my MPAC rear door storage set up. I also am glad I filled in the gapping hole in the stock roof rack with the BajaRack basket insert. Yep, its all about being able to tote stuff for me! :)
