Thanks to @Levy3 (Green Bean and Filthy Frank) reminding me I didn't really update my build thread for over 6 years, just wrote in some threads here and there but not on my build.

So guess time to pick up and give some updates as of how the FJ is today...

And as Ride Of The Month September 2021, need to show off a bit 😎

Based on the start of the thread, last update was 50... (don't ask me why I keep count, started so I just continue with it 😜)

Well, here goes: (not in order, just listing...)

51. Ricochet Skids (tank and transfer)

52. Diff drop kit

53. Daystar 1.5" poly rear spacers (to level the high nose, I like my Icons full open)

54. Oil Catch can

55. Replaced M1 front bumper fog lights to "Inspired Engineering" revolver style leds

56. Added 20L spare gas tank in the trunk for any case

57. 9" Android 10 car stereo (Kingbeats)

58. Kicker speakers all around (dash, doors, Pilar and sub)

59. LED bulbs all over (signal, reverse, brake and mirrors (blue)...

60. MBPR 2.5 cat back exhaust

61. Off road garage Snorkel

62. Wix Xp oil filter (moved from K&N)

63. Wix air filter (moved from K&N)

Updated recovery gear as well a little

64. Replaced to Warn EVO 10s winch (from XRC 9500 Gen2)

65. Factor 55 prolink

66. Bubba rope soft shackle

67. Gear America straps

68. Goal Zero torch

Some additional changes

69. 130 amps Taco alternator

70. TRD rims (beadlock style)

71. BFGs 305/70r16 KO2

72. ARB diff breather

73. Skyjacker rear links

74. LCA adjustment kit (Moog problem solver)

75. Ark splash guards

76. Coverking black seat covers

77. Noco genius 5 tender

And still waiting to be installed :

Aco Power 120w solar kit

Under hood lighting

Some extra LED pods (guess will be roof mounted with side angles)

Traction boards

New E Brake pads and hardware kit

Front camera

Reverse camera to be replaced as well

And some new decals for the doors

That's where we are now...
I'll keep posting and updating as we continue the journey

Thanks 😃

I honestly went with that Snorkel cause of the look and the way its mounted, no need to make holes in the fender
And so far I'm also pleased with the functionality of it... Keeps things cleaner under the hood, less dusty.
So yeah, happy with it

Thanks

I have... Well, 3 of them at least

*Iztaccihuatl
*Popocatépetl
*Nevado de Toluca -
this one used to be about an hour from my previous home, so it was our "playground"... Did it while the trail was sunny and dry... Rainy and muddy and even fully covered in snow.

Almost a year since I've updated my build
Few small things happened, pretty sure I wrote some in other threads... But still, updating here as well

  • Got my Bandi body mount 0.5" spacers ✌
  • Installed Power Stop Calipers
  • Replaced all E brake hardware, springs, clips, shoes...
  • Installed the hood scoop led bar
  • Changed 2 of my Rigid rock lights, strangely enough both driver side light stopped working
  • Changed my Warn fog lights to amber
  • Installed in cabin winch control switch
  • Got new blue vinyl strips on the sides, love the look and color combination
  • Replaced rear camera to the one that goes in the license plate, but not happy at all with the one I got, bad angle and not great image, should be full HD 1080 (it's not) so guess a newer one will go soon.
  • Also had to give cleaning, maintenance and change solenoid in my starter, died out one day... All good now.

And ordered new 4.56 Yukon gears and Eaton front locker 🤩 can't wait to get them

Meanwhile some pics from recent trips

I'll keep posting once the rest arrives and gets installed.

@FJraja - are you happy with the switch from clear to yellow with the fog lights?

2 months since last update... So here we go

Front diff is done and ready, with new EATON E locker and 4.56 yukon gears ✅
As I'm writing this we are working on the rear, it's down, out and apart... 4.56 going in these days

Meanwhile I also put some AJT climate knobs, great look... AJT key also goes on soon as the FJ is done, same color scheme.

Shudder fix goes in transmission as well, hope will help with that, nothing crazy, small vibration, but wanted to prevent it getting worse.

Waiting for all of my CH4X4 buttons to arrive, they delayed for some reason so long... And I'll do order and re arrange it all.

Updates will continue soon 😉

Again it's been a while and time for an update in my build
Going over last time I posted, here are the "news"

✅Bandi body mount installed
✅Rear regeared with Yukon 4.56 (front was done before, had issue with the rear, done!)
✅Adjustable front sway bar links installed
✅Did more "aggressive" BMC
✅Front suspension maintenance :
  • new Icon UCA bushings
  • new Icon coilovers bushings and spacers
  • switched to Icon Delta joints
  • replaced Lower ball joints
✅Quick fist grips installed in the back
✅Switched to LED headlight bulbs (not sure I like it though...)

I think that's it for now

Soon I'll do some more lights and electric "changes" that I have here and just didn't reach to it... Switches, hood light, door light, cameras
I need to "redo" my Ark splash guards due to the bandi body mount, the holes are now misaligned
And also plug my throttle control

I'll keep updated once all is done ✌

Love mine - flawless for years. A few years ago I posted a thread on here about install with some comments about use: “Front eLocker by Harrop: Installation and use”. Definitely simpler than air and have actually seen people wrestling with broken air lines (and no locker) out on the trail, not having a good day…

Nevado de Toluca, state of Mexico
That used to be our "playground" for a few years
It was about an hour from home and we used to go there quite a bit... Sunny days, rain mud and snow, we got to experience all over there.
There's a dirt road that leads to the entrance from the road, but we used to come from the other way, the back side of the mountain and climb it, there was something different almost every time we got there... Rains changed the terrain, trees fell and blocked the trails, other people with their 4x4 insisting on the mud and digging it up to create new path... Fun times.

With my FJ I got to drive in snow over there and in Iztaccihuatl, Puebla. Which is a dormant Volcano right next to an active one... Very cool trip also, did it twice, snowing and sunny.
