Use muffle clamps, some pre-drilled flat stock and 2 bolts with wingnuts...<$10 in materials, that is what I did for my ARB mount.
For that rack you can buy cheap clamps on fleabay ( I believe they are speaker or instrument clamps )

 

I've looked at the muffler clamps and you've got two bolts coming off those. I don't get how you're using the flat stock-don't suppose I could trouble you for a quick pic of that set up??

i just tie them up there with baling wire.

seems to work just fine.

:lol: Nah...those are just the untreated muffler clamps (clamp section), the bolts I used for the Hilift are stainless...
A wire brush and a shot of WD does the trick...anyways, those are old pics..taken just after our nice long salty winter here in the Chi.

 

There are weight clamps which fit the 1-3/4 inch roof rack, for example:

Whoa!!! Dude, that's a good find. Those Alliance Motorsports brackets are aluminum and all you'd have to do is add the bolt or stud. Those are perfect unless I'm missing something. I'll try and contact these guys and make sure they can support the weight of the Hi Lift but if so, they're a great solution.

I use the "weight clamps" (they were called roll bar clamps when I bought them). I have my Hi-Lift and also my front basket attached to the stock rack with them. Going on two years now with no problems.

 

I used some roof rack clamps I bought on ebay 4 for &75.95 shipped. Here are some shots of them. This is the clamp I used

and another closer view. http://pappylaz.com/webloads/clamponrack.jpg The clamps are aluminum rated at 500 lbs each. I swapped the stock bolt for one a little longer and put a different knob on the bolt to hold the jack a little tighter.

For 1-3/4" there seems to be a lot of choices.
Weight clamps, speaker clamps, instrument clamps, split ring clamps and wakeboard clamps.
But for 1-7/8" (ARB bumper) there isn't much out there.

 

I'm real happy with the Fourtreks products:

 

The Fourtreks look great but they cost more than the jack.

 

To be fair, so are the DOs, the ones from e-Bay, and most others. Having said that, you get what you pay for. In fact, you could stick with the bottle jack and skip the cost of the jack and mounts all together. For my money, it's worth paying an extra $20 to know the jack will be there when I need it and not go flying off into traffic. I'll save the bargin pricing for something that isn't holding a 30lb. missle on top of my roof.
