FJ wave?

I'm new to the FJ community, and I noticed that people wave to me. I figure there are two possible explanations:

1. People (primarily other FJs and Jeeps) in town are mistaking me for another FJ I've noticed almost identical to mine.

2. FJ owners wave at each other, much like motorcyclists do.

What says the FJ community?

We wave to every FJC we come across... Maybe we'll wave at you next time we're headed through CO :)

Most wave at the ones that have been modded otherwise I rarely even get a nod from most that are stock. Im always looking to to though.

How right you are. We have alot of mall cruisers around here. Usually when I wave, I get a creeped out look from the soccer mom driving

I've only had my 2013 FJ for a month or so now. No modding just yet, but def are a lot around my area, DFW in TX. I too have been waved at a handful of times, even in my stock ride. Always figured it was a lot like the motorcycle wave. I've also waved at some that don't wave back. Typically if I can tell its the soccer mom type driving one, I'll not wave as I'm sure I won't get one back. :)

Def think its cool that a good portion of the FJ community do wave though. We all should, because we're all a part of the coolest group of peeps on and off the road! ;-)

I wave at some, but often don't notice them until it's too late. I guess it depends where you are. Here in Nashville FJ's are a dime a dozen - if I waved at every one I'd get carpal tunnel. I've noticed that once I'm out of town I give and get a lot more waves.

And my FJ is still mostly stock, and if you're one of those snobs who only wave at "modded" FJ's that's ok, we still love you, sort of. Hey, I took off my tire cover - that counts as modded, right?

Not a snob, just tired of waving with no return. Too many people driving around self absorbed and not even watching the road. Ill wave to folks who wave at me. I'm cool with a stock FJ. All of them started that way.

So wave all ya want. :wave:

Yeah i wave a lot but it seems a lot of times, people don't notice (or they're ignoring me) or they just look at me with no wave in return. But I am a waver! :wave: :wave: :wave:

There are two FJ's in my vicinity....wave each time but dont know if they react...i will keep wavin' ... stock or mod dont matter if i see others..:rocker:

Ok... Leaving Coppell today I waved at a stck looking FJ.. And I'll be damned if I didn't get the finger..... No disrespect to the stock guys and gals, but I'm not waving to stock looking FJ's any more.... Unless I get a wave first!!! So please don't be offended if you see me in your stock FJ and I don't wave... My feelings are hurt!!!
