From what I've heard, people really like having it. I know the big draw for many is how light it is (only being 19 lbs more than stock) but that's for the bumper with the bash plate specifically. Once you add the winch, that is like an extra 70 - 90 lbs. But I haven't met anyone who has it that doesn't like having it. :bigthumb:

Dumb question but I'f the bumpers are not air bag cap. that's just for the front impact. Any side or rear impact air bag still deploy? If so non cap will there be any lights on saying so?

The only compony that does testing/airbag compatibility is the ARB since they can afford it. If I am not mistaken the rest of the airbag should come on regardless since each side of the truck has his own sensor.

It's not that they are "not" airbag compatible, just that they are not airbag certified. The manufacturer did not crash test them with their bumper for verification. Mainly because it cost a LOT of money.

ARB is one of few companies with the resources to do this.

However, the airbag sensors are very simple acceleration sensors. If you get in a wreck and the force experienced is great enough, the airbags will go off regardless of what bumper is there.

There is they idea that having a solid steel front bumper that gives much less than a stock bumper will actually cause the airbags to go off sooner because they don't allow the front end to crush like stock does.

Side impact sensors are unaffected by a front bumper.

To my knowledge there are no sensors in the rear of the vehicle, 2 front, 2 sides, one in the center. This might have changed since the earlier models though.

I still like the looks of the Demello bumpers the most. Now that they make them in aluminum, I'm pretty sure that is what I'll go for when feasible. I don't want to put something too heavy on it and need to make other changes right away. Who has the aluminum version and has feedback they want to share with probable-future purchasers?
